The action „Birds have arrived“
is dedicated to saving the bird species on Lake Taldykol Ice sculpture
There is a beautiful lake in the capital called Maly Taldykol. The Taldykol lake system holds a history of 13,000 years, is home to 5,000 birds, as well as fish, muskrats, and 90 types of plants.
Unfortunately, the Maly Taldykol lake is under threat of destruction. Since spring 2020, it has been drying up due to construction, without proper study, discussions with the residents, or concern for the ecosystem.
Spring has arrived, and birds are returning to their home on Taldykol to nest and raise their chicks, so they can fly across the world again in the fall.
But along with spring comes the continued drying up of the lakes. The birds may be left without a home, and we may be left without a place to rest and without the chance to see beauty within walking distance in the city center.
